This Christmas, you can help make someone feel loved,
and not forgotten.
Will you be there for people who have nowhere to turn this Christmas?
Christmas can be an incredibly difficult and lonely time of year for many of our visitors who are living on our streets or in crisis.
Our staff and volunteers on the frontline are reporting record levels of demand and greater complexity in needs from out visitors. Across all our programs over the last year, we’ve had more than 22,000 additional visits – that's a 34% increase in demand!1
Our frontline staff are working tirelessly to provide not just essentials like hot showers and clean clothing, but also crucial housing support and medical referrals to the more and more people falling by the Wayside.
That’s why it’s so critical that our Community Cafes and Community Services Centres remain accessible to everyone who needs us over the festive period.
Through your special Christmas gift, you can ensure Wayside stays open this festive season, offering vital love and support when it's needed most.
You can show the most vulnerable people in our community that you choose love every time, ensuring Wayside can give everyone a place to belong at Christmas. Please give generously if you can.
“Wayside Chapel is always somewhere you can come and get your life together,
if it wasn't for Wayside I don't know where I would be.”
Bill
Bill's Story
Bill and Tony are best mates. They met here at Wayside Chapel, and you’ll rarely find one without the other.
Bill first walked through our doors when he was just 15. He's been through it all, from addiciton to homelessness, you know name it and he's probably experienced it. For many of us, it would be hard to imagine the place without him.
On Fridays, you'll find Bill and his mate Tony cooking up our very popular BBQ burgers. His meticulous attention to detail when crafting these burgers is precise because he understands the importance of a good tailor-made feed when you're on the streets.
“Wayside is family, I enjoy directing visitors to the right people for help because I know it works.”
Bill knows how important it is to talk to people about their issues and loves that Wayside’s doors have always been open for him to do just that.
With your donation today, we can support more people like Bill this festive season.

What does your donation do?
More Australians, long accustomed to getting by, are now precariously close to hunger or homelessness due to a rental hike or unforeseen bill.
On any given day, more than 240 people come through the doors of our Community Service Centres. Each visitor brings with them a complex, often heart-wrenching story, the pain only amplified by escalating living costs.
Your support this Christmas will help us meet this urgent and rising demand.
Please give today.
In the last year1, we are so grateful that you have enabled us to provide...
Over 38,819 blankets and clothes to keep a person clothed and warm.
Over 10,891 hot showers and toiletries to people who are sleeping rough.
Over 241 visitors welcomed into the centre and supporting them the best we can.
Thanks to you, we're always there to deliver love and connection.
As a frontline organisation, Wayside Chapel plays an essential part in providing uniconditional love, care and support for some of Sydney's most vulnerable people. This includes those who are experiencing homelessness and social isolation, and who are facing physical and mental health challenges.
Everyone who walks through our doors is a person to be met, not a problem to be solved.
With your support, we provide a variety of support services that everyone can access on a daily basis. From necessities like shower and toilet facilities, food and clean clothing, to housing support and healthcare, our frontline workers are always there to provide the tailored wrap-around support that people need. Plus, a space where everyone is welcome and can connect with community.
You help us create community with no 'us and them'.
Please make your donation today - Thank you for choosing love over hate.
All donations to Wayside Chapel over $2 are tax-deductible.
