The Sydney Shimmer Festival is delighted to be fundraising for The Wayside Chapel as an extension of support of vibrant, creative, and local community life.
Please join us in celebrating culture, community life, compassion and shimmering connections and donate to support Wayside’s longstanding care for the vulnerable in our neighbourhoods and their vision of ‘love over hate'. Wayside runs a range of inclusive, support programs and services as well as a range of events, activities, and social enterprises. Examples include their focused youth employment and skills training program called the Wingspan Project and their famous, free street Christmas Day party in Kings Cross. Wayside Chapel has a long history of supporting the arts, diversity, and culture since its origins in the mid-sixties, when it was established to provide a safe place where people from all walks of life are welcome.
