Stand with Wayside Chapel and 'Donate a Plate' to feed a person living on our streets this Christmas.

For the 35,011 people experiencing homelessness in NSW, Christmas is a lonely and difficult time of the year.

We urgently need to raise $1,650,000 by 25 December to make sure the vulnerable members of our community are fed and supported this Christmas.

Please 'Donate a Plate' now to sponsor a Christmas meal with all the trimmings, and ensure that people doing it tough during the holiday season receive the love, care and support they deserve.

Because no one should go hungry or be alone at Christmas.

Together, we can show people experiencing homelessness and isolation that they are loved, and not forgotten.

The Problem

Right now, there are 35,011 people experiencing homelessness in NSW alone.

For many people, the Christmas season is filled with joy, family and good cheer. But for people living on and around our streets, it is the loneliest time of the year.

Last year, we saw a 117% increase in people needing crisis support, and we’re preparing to support just as many again this Christmas.

Our kitchens are already preparing over 290 meals every day to nourish our community, and as we open our doors to even more visitors this festive season, we need your help now more than ever.

Together, we can spread the Christmas cheer and bring joy to the most vulnerable people in our community.

The Solution

We’re asking YOU to 'Donate a Plate' to feed and support a person experiencing homelessness and social isolation this festive season.

Every dollar raised will go towards the cost of keeping our kitchens, programs and support services open throughout the holiday season, so everyone can receive the care, love and support they deserve.

Lunch with my son Jesse at Wayside is my favourite part of Christmas Day. It can be a very lonely time for people, so it's wonderful everyone can feel welcome at Wayside.

This will be my fourth Christmas Day street party and each year I’m reminded that joy doesn’t come from what we have. At Wayside, Christmas isn’t about presents — it’s about presence. It’s about showing up, sharing a meal, and reminding each other that we belong.

It’s hard to round up friends on Christmas Day, but I know I can go to Wayside with my dad and I’ll be surrounded by people I’ve known for years and who care about me.
