Stand with Wayside Chapel and
'Donate a Plate' to feed a person
living on our streets this Christmas.

Right now, around 35,000 people are experiencing homelessness in NSW. For many, Christmas is the loneliest time of year.

We urgently need to raise $2,000,000 by 25 December to keep our tables full and our doors open — this Christmas and into the new year.

When you 'Donate a Plate', you are giving a Christmas meal with all the trimmings to someone doing it tough. But this is more than just a Christmas gift and goes further than one meal. It funds the care, connection and practical help that walk alongside people every day of the year – long after the decorations come down.

Because no one should go hungry or be alone, at Christmas or any time.

Please give today and help show people they are welcome, loved and never forgotten.

This Christmas, more people are turning to Wayside with increasingly complex challenges and a greater need for support. Funds raised will go towards meals and support services delivered over the festive season, including Wayside's Christmas Street Party that we're hosting for our visitors on Christmas Day.

Right now, there are around 35,000 people experiencing homelessness in NSW alone.

For many people, the Christmas season is filled with joy, family and good cheer. But for people sleeping rough or experiencing social isolation, it can be the loneliest time of the year.

Over the Christmas period last year, we received more than 18,000 visits from people seeking crisis support. This year, we're preparing to provide that same vital support once again.

Our kitchens are already preparing nearly 200 meals every day to nourish our community, and as we open our doors to even more visitors this festive season, we need your help now more than ever.

Together, we can spread the Christmas cheer and bring joy to the most vulnerable people in our community.

A meal was just the beginning for Rebecca

Rebecca was determined to build a better future for herself. But after a series of setbacks left her without stable housing, she found herself facing homelessness and struggling to rebuild her life.

Sadly, as things became harder, Rebecca felt like she had run out of places to turn for help.

"I first visited because I was starving and they had food. But when I got here, I looked at the wall and said, 'Oh look, you can get all this other help from here too!'"

When Rebecca came to Wayside, she found more than a meal. She found practical support, genuine care and people who believed in her. With help from Wayside, she began rebuilding her life and looking to the future with hope.

Now Rebecca has stable housing and a job. She's continuing to move forward with confidence, dignity and a renewed sense of possibility.

"I just needed to feel like a normal person again."

How does your donation help?

No one should go hungry at Christmas, and your donation helps make sure people doing it tough can access food, support and connection throughout the festive season.

This Christmas, your donation will help us provide...

A freshly cooked Christmas meal with all the trimmings, so people experiencing homelessness, hardship or social isolation can enjoy a warm meal on Christmas Day.

Essential support services and practical assistance, connecting people in crisis with the help they need when they're facing difficult circumstances.

Staff and volunteers who welcome every visitor with dignity and care, because at Wayside, everyone is a person to be met, not a problem to be solved.

The day-to-day running costs that keep our kitchens, programs and services open, so we're ready to welcome everyone who walks through our doors over Christmas.
